Christmas Season After A Loss
Christmas Season after a Loss
It’s here again, the most wonderful time of the year! Except maybe for some people out there, it’s not. For those that have lost a loved one this year this will be their first Christmas without that loved one. It’s a different outlook altogether for them and it’s something they have to navigate through. Maybe they might push themselves to still host that big Christmas gathering with the rest of their friends and family to help keep them occupied instead of focusing on the loss. Maybe they might still participate in all of the holiday festivities while still taking time to think back on previous years or maybe they will choose to not participate at all this Christmas season.
Whatever choice that person has made is still a good choice at the end of the day as this is their way of grieving for that loved one. As a family member or a friend the best you can do is be there for them. Reach out to them, let them know you are thinking about them this season and that if they need someone to talk to you are there for them. Being supportive and present this season is the best you can do for them.
