Obituary of Frank Hatton

Hatton: Frank. Wing Cmdr. Frank Hatton D.F.C., C.D., R.C.A.F., Retired. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frank Hatton on Friday, March 14, 2008. He was in his 92nd year. Frank was born and raised in Toronto. He left Canada to join the R.A.F. as a pilot in 1937, and in 1943, transferred to the R.C.A.F., where he served until his retirement in 1965. He and his wife Claire (Godin) moved to Cedar Springs in 1967, where he worked for the Ontario Government as Personnel Director at the Southwestern Regional Centre until 1977. Claire died in 1992 and is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Blenheim. Frank married Thelma Flum in 1993 and they have resided in Blenheim until this time. A true gentleman, Frank served his country with distinction and was devoted to his family. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife Thelma Hatton, daughter Mary Frances and Joe Sheehan of Toronto, daughter Ruth Hatton of Belleville, son John Hatton and Maureen Walsh of London, son Robert Hatton and Caro Clarke of Erie Beach, son Christopher Hatton and Linda Kenyon of Waterloo and step-daughter Jacqueline Ray of Chatham. Proud grandfather of Andrea, Alex, Elizabeth, Jessica, Jake, T.J., Sarah, Laura, Patrick, and Philip. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home "Ford Chapel", 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Sunday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Legion Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 95 Marlborough St. N., Blenheim on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
