SLAVIK: Joseph F. A resident of Chatham and formerly of Mull, Joseph Slavik passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Monday, May 27, 2013 at the age of 89. Born in Vnorovy, Czechoslovakia, son of the late Bartholomew and Anna (Tomek) Slavik. Beloved husband of Rosemary (Kocis) Slavik. Dear father of Donald Slavik and his wife Heather of Chatham, and Carol McKerlie and her husband David of Belmont. Grandfather of Karen Baillargeon and her husband Cory of Rondeau, Emily Evans and her husband Steven of Chatham, and Jessie McKerlie of Belmont. Great-grandfather of Wesley, Ella, and Clara Baillargeon, and Brianne, Mya, and Finn Evans. Brother of Frank and Barb Slavik of Chatham, and brother-in-law of Pat and Tony Santavy of Michigan, Fran and Lawrence Banks of Charing Cross, and Helen and Frank Sysel of Chatham. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Vigil prayers at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croydon Street, Chatham on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
