Down, George Arthur, a resident of Chatham. George A. Down died Wednesday November 27, 2013 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Chatham Campus, at the age of 85. Born in Chatham, Ontario, son of the late Walter Alfred William & Charlotte Harper (Grant) Down. Beloved husband of the late Jessie Louise Down (McGregor) (2003). Dear father of Debra Heslinga (John) of Campbellford. Grandfather of Dan (Liz), Chris & Jen. Great Grandfather of Gabriel John. Brother of the late Ethel Huxley, Alfred James Down & Rose Marie Watson. George was an active member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church and the Parthenon Masonic Lodge # 267 A.F.& A.M. He retired from Chatham Hydro in 1989. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Monday December 2, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Masonic Lodge Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Monday at 6:45 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Tuesday at 11:00 a..m. with Rev.
