Obituary of Karen Merulla

MERULLA, Karen A resident of Ridgetown, Karen Merulla (nee Phillips), passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 48. Born in Sarnia on November 24, 1966, daughter of Wray & Jean Phillips. Will be sadly missed by the love of her life Ron Owczar and his children Lauren & Katie. Loving mother to Austin & Bree Merulla. Sister to Cheryl & Scott Hammett of Thamesford, Donna Phillips of Byron. Special aunt to Kelsey & Brent Hammett, Elena, Isaiah, Seth Albergaria. Dear cousin of Mark & Linda Phillips. Karen was loved by many friends. Cremation has taken place. A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 3:00-5:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Karen Merulla to a Trust Fund for her children (Cheques Payable to Cheryl Hammett) would be appreciated by the family.
