Obituary of Robert 'Bob' McAlorum

McAlorum: Robert "Bob" A resident of St. Thomas, and formerly of Chatham, Robert McAlorum passed away at Port Stanley Extendicare on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the age of 94. Born in Chatham, son of the late James and Annie (Allan) McAlorum. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Launder) McAlorum. (2009) Loving father of Margaret & Terry Metcalf of St. Thomas, and the late Bobby McAlorum (2008). Fondly remembered by his daughter-in-law Geraldine McAlorum of Tilbury. Cherished grandfather of Sean McAlorum, Shannon & Jacob Bachinger, Dawn & Kris Cunningham, and Nathan Metcalf. Proud great grandfather of Robbie Bachinger, Liam and Ashleigh Cunningham. Dear brother of Agnes Day of Chatham, William McAlorum of Chatham, and the late Mary Klinck, Dora Little, Alva Armaly, Katharine Norris, James McAlorum, Annie Andrews, Josephine McKeone, and John McAlorum. Brother-in-law of Albert Andrews, and Agnes McAlorum. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bob retired from International Harvester in 1978. He was an avid golfer for many years at the former Indian Creek Golf Club, and had been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #628, and the Naphtali Lodge #413 AF&AM in Tilbury. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
