Obituary of Corry Brink
Brink: Corry
April 24, 1956 - January 16, 2025
In our deep sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of our wife, mom, Oma, sister, Corry Brink. She passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, and is now safe in the arms of Jesus.
Born on April 24, 1956, in Beverwijk, The Netherlands, to the late Hendrik and Roelofje van Oosten, she moved to Canada in 1977 when she got married.
Corry leaves behind her loving husband of 47 years, Jim, and her children Tanya and Gerard Leeuwenburg, Jim and Lindsay Brink, Melissa and Brent Pilon, Kristel Brink, and Nicole and Brendon Holland. She is deeply missed by her grandchildren, who she absolutely adored: Cora Leeuwenburg, Annika and Aaron Pardy, Jacob Leeuwenburg, James Leeuwenburg, Lukas Leeuwenburg, Aiden Brink, Leah Brink, Austin Brink, Clarissa Escott, Alex Escott, and Lincoln Holland.
She is also lovingly remembered by her family in Holland: Coby, Gerda, Henk, Jim, and Marloes, and Jim’s family: John, Stuart, Deb, George, Rita, Tom, Carlene, Ed, Margaret and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by Jim’s parents, George and Trudy Brink.
Corry was a devoted member of Living Hope Free Reformed Church in Chatham. She worked at Chatham Fuel Injection and volunteered at Eben-Ezer Christian School. She received so much joy spending time with the staff and students there.
Corry loved traveling with Jim and they visited many different places in the Caribbean, Canada and Europe. She enjoyed camping, doing puzzles, baking (appeltaart was her speciality!), watching old TV shows, and getting the very best deal she could on almost anything.
But most of all, she loved and enjoyed us, her family.
She had a great sense of humour and you knew when she found something truly funny - she would have a huge smile on her face and her whole body would shake in laughter. Through our tears and pain, we are remembering her with stories and memories, and the love and laughter she shared with us.
We are grieving. But we are resting in the hope that Corry held onto so tightly, her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We are comforted knowing that she knew Jesus and that she is in His presence now.
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand
Donations made in memory of Corry to Eben-Ezer Christian School would be appreciated by the family.
